ISRAEL CONTINUES TO ATTACK THE AL-AQSA MOSQUE IN THIS RAMADAN! – SOME OF OUR PALESTINIAN BROTHERS WERE INJURED AND TAKEN INTO CUSTODY!

Dr. Hüseyin Kami BÜYÜKÖZER

The persecution of Israel continues also in the month of Ramadan. The Israeli police, who attacked hundreds of Palestinian brothers and sisters who gathered to pray tarawih prayers at the Masjid aI-Aqsa, at Muslims praying regardless of women or children, injured dozens of people. There are more than 240 injured and more than 100 people were taken into custody.

Events broke out in occupied East Jerusalem after the Israeli police intervened with rubber-coated bullets, sound bombs, tear gas and batons to those who took shelter in the Qibla Masjid in Masjid al-Aqsa at night.

Our Palestinian brothers gathered around the Old City area of occupied East Jerusalem after the tarawih prayers. The Israeli police brutally tried to disperse the gathered hundreds of Palestinians with sound bombs and plastic-coated bullets. Our Palestinian brothers tried to protect themselves with fireworks and water bottles.

After these persecutions, Muslims with a population of 2 billion should sit down and think bitterly. Why are we in despair against Israel of 15 million? Despite all the obstacles, the Cyprus invasion was carried out in 1974. Many of my brothers know the details. The United States then declared an embargo. With the cooperation of the state and the nation, this embargo was destroyed, moreover, we have a voice in the world defence industry today.

Besides its own ideology, it is its economic power that makes Israel reckless. On the one hand, it is shameful to even consider how much Muslims support this economic power. Since 2005, we have tried to call for a ‘Boycott of Israeli Products’ from time to time. It was useful, but it could not stop the persecution. In these days of our suffering, I invite a boycott for our values, which we believe in as much as we can, for the rights of our brothers and sisters who are under persecution, for humanity.
