Spring Water of Hamidiye has been the first company to take Halal and Tayyib Certificate from GIMDES. Today, Spring Water of Hamidiye is exporting its water to 42 countries with Halal and Tayyib Certificate of GIMDES. GIMDES visited to company that has completed its fifth year as Halal certified and Spring Water of Hamidiye’s General Manager Mehmet Ali SEKER were given a plaque in memory of fifth-year collaboration by GIMDES’s President BUYUKOZER.
In 1898, a commission was established in order to supply quality drinking water by order of II. Abdulhamit. According to Project that was done, Springs in Kemerburgaz was brought together under twenty trough. It was gained 1.200 m3 flow rate from springs per day. Completing a major part of facility maintained far into 1900. As for feeding of water and approving was done in 1902. It was written that construction of facility cost hundred thousand gold lira.
It has been started to get to the public by bottling since 1979. Hamidiye has a successful century old past and historical speciality. Hamidiye Spring Water, that is one of the critical investments its own time, and our important value that we own as a country, was incorporated in 1979. Now, the facility has been managed by Hamidiye Spring Water that was an association company of Metropolitan Municipality of Istanbul.
Today Hamidiye Water supplied to the city before a century, has become mankind property and with both quality of products or historical image, has reached the position to export water to 42 countries for passing beyond the borders of our country. In 2010, halal certificate was started to ask by the countries where Hamidiye exported, first they were surprised about is it halal certification in the water? When our past General Manager asked this question to GIMDES’s President and he listened answer, he said “Yes, it is necessity that water undergoing this process should also have halal certificate”. So that Spring Water of Hamidiye has been the first company to take Halal and Tayyib Certificate from GIMDES. Today, Spring Water of Hamidiye I.C is exporting its water to 42 countries with Halal and Tayyib Certificate of GIMDES. In 2014, it was also awarded as the most exporting company in own sector by Istanbul Exporters Association.
