European Food Safety Authority has announced an oil report on may of 2016. But it was mentioned in the news as it was new news. But the actual reason behind this report was to demolish Malaysian and Indonesian economy which is the producers of 85% of palm oil all over the world. The west all the time do like that. We have to remind the game about margarine upon butter in the 50s and then upon olive oil in the 60s. Both of them increased margarine consumption in Turkey in that period and to demolish Turkish economy.
Palm oil is used in many household products, including foods such as peanut butter, and many processed foods. It is also present in personal products such as shampoos and toothpaste, and over the last few decades, the markets for processed foods and low-cost personal care products grew considerably. Ten years ago corn oil was used instead of palm oil. One of the biggest corn and soy oil producers are in the USA.
On the other hand, consumers also are alarmed when they received news. The view is the same as before. We will encounter the same situations what butter producers lived in the 50s and olive oil producers in 60s. Many products contain palm oil in the market shelves. It is important for the government to take necessary steps to eliminate economic demolish about this issue.
Indonesia and Malaysia are the primary producers as 85% market share in 2016. 5 or 6 years ago corn oil which is produced under the control of the West was ahead with 40% market share.
The condition about palm oil harm effect is the same for all oils which are produced by hot press. This condition changes for all oils depends on their usage circumstances.
