Dr. Hüseyin Kâmi BÜYÜKÖZER
Mounif Kilani, President of the Belgium-based HFCE (Halal Food Council of Europe), and Emre Kırıcıoğlu, External Relations Coordinator, visited GIMDES. During the visit, the two institutions had the opportunity to get to know each other better.
During the meeting, Mounif Kilani provided information about the new formation and perspectives within the HFCE. The parties emphasized the need to end the divisions among different certification bodies and to bring together certification bodies operating worldwide under a single umbrella. They also emphasized the need for joint action against practices by some institutions that do not comply with Islamic principles.
The meeting also emphasized that non-Muslims, whether in Europe or elsewhere, cannot interfere with the halal certification processes of Muslims.
The visit concluded with a decision to strengthen mutual cooperation and maintain warm relations between the parties. We hope that the decision taken will be beneficial.
