Since 2012, GIMDES has always supported the Syrian people in their just struggle, meeting their needs with halal and clean products, through food parcels provided by Halal World Markets, fresh meal distributions for iftars, orphans, Hafiz, briquette houses, and similar projects.
In this new period, we will continue to work tirelessly to support the Syrian people, not through transportation, but by instilling halal awareness on-site, setting an example for on-site implementation.
GIMDES has initiated Halal and Tayyib certification efforts for a company producing Mazrati (مزرعتي) dairy products in Idlib and Damascus, Syria.
The owners of the company, inspected by GIMDES Chief Auditor Mr. Abdülhalim Girgin, stated that they are very sensitive to halal certification and are eager to receive certification from GIMDES.
A company official stated that: “The hadith, “If a Muslim prays with dust on their clothes, how can their prayers be accepted if their food, drink, and clothing are haram?” is very important. The war isn’t just on the ground; it’s also a major battle over food. We are prepared to do whatever is necessary to obtain halal certification. “Some Islamophobic individuals and organizations can secretly introduce these substances into food through raw materials such as rennet, preservatives, and additives, or other chemicals used in milk and cheese production, or in the manufacture of cosmetics, and they adulterate food by mixing them into products.”
GIMDES, aiming to spread awareness of halal and Tayyib throughout Syria with this initiative, stated that it is important to raise awareness that this is also an act of jihad, and that their goal is to establish the Medina Market in Damascus.
The company representative stated that there are many substances they are unfamiliar with in their own business, such as milk and cheese, and that they want to learn which substances are categorized as halal and which are haram, and to cooperate with GIMDES in all areas. He expressed his hope and gratitude for their arrival and prayed for Allah Almighty success in the wars on all fronts.
GIMDES will continue to stand with and support the Syrian people, as it has for 14 years. We hope that the certification efforts will be successful and pray to Janab al-Haqq to halal and tayyib awareness in Syria will be raised.
