On March 7th, the 17th of Ramadan, we will celebrate World Halal Day. The first verse on the subject of halal, verse 69 of Surah Al-Anfal, was revealed on the 17th day of Ramadan in the year 624 AH, during the Battle of Badr, the first battle between Islam and disbelief.
First and foremost, we pray to our Lord that the blessed month of Ramadan brings mercy, blessings, peace, and love to you and our entire Ummah, and that our prayers are accepted during this month of mercy.
As we do every year, we will be carrying out various activities for this day, insha’Allah. With your support, last Ramadan we reached tens of thousands of needy brothers and sisters in Türkiye’s earthquake zone, as well as in Gaza, Palestine, and Syria. We brought joy to 5000 people by setting up iftar tables with 1000 Ramadan food packages.
This year, relying first on Allah and then on the support we believe you will provide, we have begun reaching out to our Muslim brothers and sisters in need in the same places.
On the 17th of Ramadan, World Halal Day, payments totaling 50,000 TL (25,000 TL each) were made to our brother Halim Girgin from the GIMDES board of directors to distribute iftar meals to 100 families in Gaza and to 200 orphans in Syria. As donations come in, these iftar meals will reach even more people in need. May Allah accept the good deeds of our brothers and sisters who have dedicated themselves to GIMDES, insha’Allah. We look forward to your continued warm support.
