The audits of Halal Dunya Marketleri (HDM), which serves with 35 branches across Türkiye, continue without slowing down. HDM coordinator Abdullah Selam and GİMDES Auditor M. Zeki Aygur conducted an unannounced audit at the Istanbul Zeytinburnu branch. During the visit, the audit team was welcomed by the branch manager Abdulhekim Sabırlı.
During the visit at the branch located in Nuri Paşa Neighborhood, greetings on behalf of GİMDES President Dr. Hüseyin Kami Büyüközer were conveyed to the branch management.
Audit Process in Accordance with Standards
In accordance with the standards of Halal Dunya Marketleri, which is obligated to keep only GİMDES-certified products on market shelves, a detailed inspection and control process was carried out at the Zeytinburnu branch.
Within the scope of the audit, the following critical headings were meticulously examined:
- Certificate Control: Up-to-dateness and validity of the GİMDES certificates of the products on sale.
- Storage Conditions: Suitability of the storage and preservation conditions of the products.
- Label and Regulation: Product label information and its compliance with halal standards.
- Hygiene and Order: General cleanliness, hygiene conditions, and aisle organization of the environment where products are displayed.
As a result of the detailed examinations, the current deficiencies were conveyed to the branch manager.

During the visit, branch official Abdulhekim Sabırlı expressed their satisfaction with the local people’s interest in halal and tayyib products. Emphasizing that they work meticulously at every stage, from store layout to product supply, so that consumers can shop safely, Sabırlı highlighted that he procures products in line with customer demand and that the spiritual responsibility of this service comes before everything else. Drawing attention to the point that the companies they purchase products from should act sensitively regarding returns and exchanges, Sabırlı stated that product variety needs to be increased.
