There are two important issues for the Ummah in today’s environment, the first is Halal and Tayyib food to clean our food mixed with haram, the second is the Islamic Economy system to clean our economy polluted with haram interest. We have to implement these two systems as a must in our worldly life.
In this context, Qard al-Hasan is very important. As a Muslim, we have to internalize Qard al-Hasan first in order to clean it. We should bring this Qard al-Hasan system to better places by giving our time and working with all our sincerity.
In 1969, we were lucky enough to establish the Elif Building Complex in Ankara. We established this site of 500 households for religious people to live their beliefs freely and raise their children as they wish. We made people homeowners here. In these works, we established the Elif Construction Cooperative and used the Qard al-Hasan system. The cooperative system is very important in this respect.
Muslim university students needed a dormitory. Using the Qard al-Hasan system, we were able to open a dormitory for the first time for 25 people. Later, with the news and blessing of this, we increased this number to 180 in the second year and 300 in the third year. It became a dormitory project where Muslims can comfortably complete their school education. All of these are the blessings of Qard al-Hasan and the result of living Qard al-Hasan with a deep understanding and internalization.
Again, with the Qard al-Hasan system, we established the Dar-ul Halal Madrasah for a Muslim generation of faith and consciousness. Here, we educate our students by providing both professional sciences and Islamic sciences. Today, we can only conduct this education online. On the one hand, we are working with the Qard al-Hasan system to realize our physical roof, and insha’Allah, our Lord (SWT) will also bless this school of ours.
In the sixth of all these activities, our “Halal Morsel Qard al-Hasan Fund” that we have established and run for the Ummah continues its service.
