THE MOUNTH OF SHABAN MUBARAK!

Quote from SANHA

In all endeavours of life, it is an undeniable fact that victory is dependent on honest effort, determination and diligent preparation. Whether it is an athlete pushing the limits, a professional rendering a service, a Scholar striving towards academic development, a military unit preparing for combat readiness, an Aalim or a Haafidh striving in the dissemination of Deeni knowledge, there is no substitute for training.

The month of Sha’baan for a Believer has been designated as the month of training for Ramadhaan, which is the most meritorious month of the Islamic year. The manual for this preparation has been gifted to Muslims by the perfect exemplar to mankind, our Nabi Muhammad sallallahu alayhi wasallam through his teachings, deeds and leading by example.

He demonstrated this with fasting where it is reported that, “Besides the month of Ramadhaan, the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam did not fast in any other month more than he did in Sha’baan.” (al-Bukhari)

The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wasallam loved that his deeds be presented to Allah Ta’ala whilst he was in the state of fasting. (Nasa’i)

Therefore, Sha’baan can be likened to a rehearsal and simulation for Ramadhaan, where the great battle against the nafs (inner and base desires) begins and goes into full might. A Believer is expected to fight his every base desire, from dawn to dusk, to emerge as victorious at the end of Ramadhaan.

The battle is bolstered with the Halaal diet, and accepted du’aas are the key to success and gives meaning to the supplication of Sha’baan, “O Allah, make the month of Sha’baan blessed for us, and let us reach the month of Ramadhaan (i.e. prolong our life through to Ramadhaan, so that we may be able to excel in worship and benefit from its merits and blessings).”

We will be glad to facilitate your spiritual combat readiness this Sha’baan. We are just a call or click away to respond to your queries on Halaal.
